Key points
The Ronin Bridge CCIP migration has begun! Move more tokens between Ethereum <> Ronin using the highest standard of cross-chain security – Chainlink CCIP. Note: some tokens are not yet bridgeable with CCIP including WBTC, LUA, LUAUSD.
Legacy Ronin Bridge Deprecation: On April 21st, the legacy Ronin bridge will no longer be active. Users will need to use CCIP from this point onwards.
Full Migration Completion Date: By April 25th, CCIP will be the ONLY usable bridge on Ronin, assuming 100% of the legacy Ronin Bridge’s functions.
The Ronin Bridge CCIP migration has begun! Move more tokens between Ethereum and Ronin using the highest standard of cross-chain security – Chainlink CCIP. This opens the door for new users to join our movement, and makes Ronin more secure than ever. Bridge WETH, USDC, AXS, PIXEL, and more. Here’s what’s happening:
What is the Ronin CCIP Bridge?
Last year, Ronin Validators voted to adopt the Chainlink standard, the Cross-Chain Interopability Protocol (CCIP) as our network’s canonical cross-chain infrastructure. Today, we took an important step towards making that happen. Over the next few weeks, both CCIP and the legacy Ronin Bridge will be active – but CCIP will soon be the ONLY bridge available on Ronin.
RONers, there is no action required with this update.
Note to developers and exchanges: we encourage you to grant dual minter rights to CCIP if you haven’t already.
Ronin Bridge → CCIP Full Migration Timeline
• April 9th: Legacy Ronin Bridge remains active and most tokens become bridgeable on CCIP.
• April 21st: Legacy Ronin Bridge becomes inactive. No change to CCIP tokens.
• April 24th-25th: Any remaining tokens on the Ronin Bridge are transferred to CCIP. After this point, CCIP assumes 100% of the legacy Ronin Bridge’s functions.
Final Thoughts
Last year, Ronin Validators voted to adopt Chainlink CCIP to serve as our network’s canonical cross-chain infrastructure. This represents the strongest security standard available, and lays a foundation to enable more lanes to even more chains. Today, we take the final steps in integrating CCIP to Ronin, entering yet another new era. Let’s keep pushing.
