Key Points
Ronin.Rest is a REST API and game API proxy for Origins on Ronin that allows anyone, anywhere to access Ronin blockchain data. On August 1st, it will be shut down.
Public access to the mainnet archival node will be disabled, while access to the testnet archival node is now available through the Developer Portal. These are gateways to access blockchain data from Ronin’s first blocks. RPC archival nodes will have 1 to 1 replacements via the Developer Portal.
Community member and creator of Ronin.rest wehmoen has shared a few words with the Ronin community below.
We’d like to let our community know that Ronin.Rest will shut down on August 1st. Here’s everything you need to know:
What is Ronin.Rest?
Ronin.Rest is a REST API and game API proxy for Origins on Ronin that allows users to access Ronin blockchain data. It receives about 120 million requests per month from users and partners querying the Ronin blockchain. For example, Ronin.Rest’s Axie Sales tool can tell you an axie’s sale history when you input the axie’s number. While this kind of information is always available, Ronin.Rest makes it easy to retrieve it and has served our community since May 31st, 2022.
Note: if you aren’t a Ronin.Rest user, this shutdown won’t affect you or your Ronin and Axie experiences.
What this means for users of Ronin.Rest
On August 1st, the REST API will be shut down. That means it will no longer be possible to query Ronin using the Axie Sales, Axie Transfers, Origins Leaderboard, and Analytics features on Ronin.Rest. Sky Mavis has plans to launch Ronin RPC services which will – in part – grant access to some of this data going forward, but will not replace many of Ronin.Rest’s most popular features. Many of these features will require a good amount of individual work from each developer to replace.
Archival Nodes
When we shut down Ronin.rest, we will also disable public access to the Mainnet archival node. Access to the Testnet archival node will be available through the Developer Portal.

RPC Archive Nodes
The RPC archive nodes will have 1 to 1 replacements via the Sky Mavis Developer Portal. We’ll publish updates at the link below:
Final Thoughts from Ronin.rest Creator wehmoen
I would like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to all those who supported and utilized Ronin.rest. As a project I started prior to joining Sky Mavis in September 2022, Ronin.rest aimed to provide developers with easy and straightforward access to data about Axies and the dynamic Axie ecosystem.
Over time, Ronin.rest surpassed expectations, handling an impressive volume of approximately 120 million requests per month. The community's enthusiastic response and trust in this resource were truly inspiring. I was thrilled to contribute by incorporating public RPC nodes without rate limits, enabling seamless data access for developers.
To all the developers who harnessed the capabilities of Ronin.rest, and to the end-users who unknowingly benefited from its services, I want to express my deep appreciation. Your support and trust have been immensely valuable.
While the time has come for Ronin.rest to conclude its journey, this marks an exciting new chapter. Stay tuned as we embark on new ventures that will contribute further to the Axie community and the broader blockchain ecosystem. Thank you all for your tremendous support.
