On March 30th of 2023, we announced our mission to make Ronin’ THE launchpad for the most compelling Web3 games in the world. Today, we’re taking that mission even further by welcoming Pixels.xyz as the first playable Web3 game to announce their future migration to Ronin! We’re excited to welcome them into the Ronin family and introduce our community to the Pixels universe. We'll be working alongside the amazing Pixels team to get the game transitioned over to the Ronin network. During that time the game will still be on Polygon, but there’s good news: Pixels is already 100% playable and you can get started today.
Pixels has a lot going on. Their world is well-developed and they’ve built a tonne of experiences into their universe including mini-games, P2P resource trading, and even no-code tooling that empowers players to create their own in-game items. They’ve created a mesmerizing and easy-going Web3 game with digital ownership at its heart. We’re thrilled to welcome them into our movement.
In Pixels, you can use digital assets you already own as avatars. Imagine walking around as a Pudgy Penguin or a Bored Ape! Spawn in the town of Terra Villa and travel to a variety of places including player-owned land plots and OtherSpeck, a remote mining outpost connected to Animoca Brands’ Otherdeeds. Complete in-game challenges to earn tokens like $BERRY and $OTHER – which have their own unique utility. Getting Started
The Pixels team have designed a fun and helpful tutorial for new players. Once you’ve signed into the game, you’ll meet Barney the farmer. He’ll teach you how to farm, use items in your inventory, and manage your avatar’s energy. At the end, you’ll walk away with a 10 $BERRY reward and six popberry seeds! Then, he’ll send you to Ranger Dale to continue your mission. Barney is well-connected in Terra Villa – keep an eye out for him on Twitter where he tweets random thoughts throughout the week.
Integrated NFT Avatars
In Terra Villa, players can walk around in a free, randomized avatar or wear their own integrated NFTs. Short and stubby CrypToadz, tall and lanky Bored Apes, big and puffy Pudgy Penguins… All are welcome! Connect your wallet, chat with your friends, and change your appearance any time. Check out the list of current NFT collections already integrated in Pixels, or submit an application to bring your NFT collection to life in Terra Villa using their Typeform. Players can also change their username for 1,000 $BERRY.
Getting Farm Land in Terra Villa
You’ll want to get a plot of Farm Land once you’ve explored Terra Villa and powered through a few tutorial-style Quests. Acquire a small, non-NFT Speck Land with $BERRY earned in-game, rent an NFT Farm Land from another player, or buy your own plot from Opensea. Of course, these will be available on Mavis Market once Pixels’ migration is complete.
In Pixels, there are 5,000 unique Farm Land NFTs with seven unique traits like environment, size, tree density, and more – each plot yields resources to the players who farm it. Owners receive benefits including a $PIXELS earning multiplier, unlimited withdrawal limits and instant teleportation to other farms among others. Farm Land NFTs can even be customized by their owners with decorations and new industries to allow other players to work the land, which results in more rewards for the owner. While anyone can play Pixels without owning a Farm Land NFT, owners unlock many exciting experiences as soon as they acquire their first plot.
Becoming a Pixels VIP
The Pixels universe is huge, and we’ve only scratched the surface of what you can do. In March of 2023, the Pixels team introduced VIP Memberships to curb bots and offer new perks to power-users. VIP Memberships grant access to the VIP Lounge, unlock unlimited P2P trading, give players six extra backpack slots, and more. Players can become a VIP for 0.004 ETH per month through their in-game dashboard. You don’t have to become a VIP to enjoy Pixels. However, it makes recharging your energy and trading with other players a lot easier and more convenient.

Pixels was founded in 2020 by Luke Barwikowski and has grown into the #1 Web3 game on Polygon by Unique Active Wallets. The Pixels team counts Y-Combinator alumni, the co-founders of GameHouse studios, former Ubisoft devs, and more among their crew.
